Volunteers pick up trash along Highway 107S on April 1, 2017

Rotarians Get Dirty to Keep Our Area Clean

On Saturday, April 1, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley came out in force to pick up trash and litter along Highway 107S. Club members, in their hard-to-miss orange vests, collected bags of trash and debris along the heavily-traveled route.

The group collected a total of 30 bags of trash and several larger items of debris.

The club adopted the 2-mile stretch of road nearly 10 years ago, and performs trash pick-up two to three times a year. Participating Rotarians included: Justin Allman, Dudley Bell, Barry Caponi, Hugh Dargan, Mike Erwin, Traci Erwin, Malice Grant, Steve Johannessen, Roger Kinsman, Howard Meister, Bill Mobley, Jake Shuler and Duncan Wheale.

Cashiers Rotary invites anyone interested in community service to visit with us! The club meets every Wednesday morning at the Cashiers United Methodist Church. Breakfast is served from 7:30am and a weekly program begins promptly at 8am. For more information, visit CashiersRotary.org or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
