Barbara and Bill Parker brought their Traveling CART Show to Cashiers last week, to highlight the important work that the spare change donated helps fund. The Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley is a member of District 7670, which encompasses the Rotary clubs of Western North Carolina, has had fantastic participation in the District's Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust (CART) Fund.

At its most recent meeting, the Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley welcomed guest speaker Dr. Kimberly Elliott, Assistant Superintendent of the Jackson County Public School System. Dr. Elliott provided the club with an update on schools and educational initiatives in the county following the opening of the 2014-15 school year.
At its last regular meeting, the Rotary Club of Cashiers Valley welcomed the Clinic Director of the Community Care Clinic of Highlands-Cashiers, Mr. Jerry Hermanson. The Clinic, located near the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, has been providing primary medical care for uninsured, low income families in both Macon and Jackson counties for the past 8 ½ years.
