A Message from District Governor Bill
November is Foundation Month. The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. During the past 100 years, the Foundation has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
First, my heartfelt thanks to the Rotarians of District 7670 who give generously to The Rotary Foundation. During the month of November we can do more together than we can alone through contributions to The Foundation.
I would also like to remind you all that Giving Tuesday in November 28th. This is a post-Thanksgiving event to show your support by giving to The Rotary Foundation. Last Rotary year, our district participated in helping others in need by contributing to our charity, AKA The Rotary Foundation. It is important to mention that $.91 of every dollar donated goes to fund help for those who need what we have to offer. (Charity Navigator has given The Rotary Foundation a 4 Star Rating, which is their highest rating.) In addition, we have been given high praise from The Association of Fundraising Professionals.
When you contribute to The Foundation, you give to fund our causes. There is great joy in knowing that when we give to The Foundation, we give to promote peace in the world. Through our contributions, we help to fight disease. Through our efforts we help provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene. Our dollars help save mothers and children. We also support Education and, finally, grow local economies. Remember that The Foundation is a 501-C-3 entity and contributions are tax deductible. I look forward to working with you as we continue in making a difference in the world. Remember, rich people aren’t generous; poor people aren’t generous; generous people are generous.
